Pete calls this “a center-piece you can eat!” Doesn’t that sound like a dream? Your guests will think so!

This recipe is incredibly easy and the end product? Incredible. Pete is going to show you how to make your own candied fruit lollipops in a few easy steps.

Go on, you know you want to try!

Candy Coated Fruit Lollipops

Ingredients:

1 1/2 Cups Sugar

1/2 Water

3/4 Cup Corn syrup

Fruit (Fruits with skins are suggested —think grapes, kumquats, strawberries, blackberries and raspberries)

Tools:

Candy thermometer

Skewers

Place fruit on long wooden skewers. We advise one piece of fruit per skewer. You can double grapes and small berries.

Add ingredients for candy mixture to a pot.

Stir ingredients until well mixed.

Bring to a boil and then cover for 2 minutes.

After 2 minutes insert a candy thermometer. Check that the mixture has reached 310 degrees. Remove from heat.

Quickly, but carefully, dip the fruit skewers into the hot candy mixture.  They should cool instantly and can be sat on a tray or plate. We recommend wax paper for something easy at home! If you’re using a marble or granite countertop you can use that, like Pete! (Just note -- he did spray with cooking oil beforehand!)

After dipping all of the fruit arrange them in a vase for the sweetest presentation!

The fruit will begin to deteriorate in two to three hours, so be sure to enjoy these delicious and beautiful treats before then! Enjoy!
